Day trip to NYC

Hello NYC via the Lincoln tunnel

First stop Eataly.  A huge Italian market with restaurants and rooftop brewery.  This is Luis one of my proteges  working at Il Pesce the seafood restaurant.

Luis hooked up his old chef with some free samples of mussels and crudo (raw fish).  Here’s some more pics from the market.

Pasta lamp.  Next stop the Empire state building.

The family picture they try to sell you.  I snapped a picture which they told me later that I couldn’t do.  Whoops.

View from battery park.

What?!?!

Our last stop was the 9/11 memorial.  Very sobering and powerful.  So sad, my emotions got the better of me.

and on a lighter note…Arielle in front of a sushi restaurant and here’s the last store we stopped in before we left.  Now that’s a deli case.

Well if that isn’t a roller coaster of emotions, what is? The photo of the photo you didn’t buy was hilarious (four days ago I considered doing the same thing after going to the top of the St. Louis arch), and I just have to say that there is something a little creepy about all those statues of Liberty. They look like they are organizing for a march.

Great capture of what looks like an interesting day! You sure had better weather than the day I was there just after Christmas!
