11-7-11

This time of year my daughter has a week off of school for a statewide teacher convention.   Why the teachers can’t have a convention in the summer and not during the school year is beyond me.  But anyway, this year we decided to go to Boston.  This was our first trip to the city and on our first day we hit up the freedom trail.   After walking around and sightseeing all day we ended up at Bunker Hill.  Tired and hungry, we climbed the Bunker Hill tower enjoyed the great view of the city.  As we were leaving I snapped this picture of a statue at the bottom of the tower.  The sun set on the city and our legs felt like linguini.  After dinner at Jacob Wirth’s restaurant and we all ran out of steam and fell asleep around 10pm.

What a great picture! And join the rest of us who can’t figure out why teachers need to take the school year to do their conventions and training work. I have to really wonder how OUR teachers (back in the “olden days”) managed to keep themselves trained, when we didn’t get to have ANY school days off unless it was an official holiday or a snow day (and we got VERY few of those in Minnesota! The snowplows are too good here.)
